Hanoi is the capital city of Vietnam. It sits in the north of the country about 100 km from the coast and 150km from China. It is a delightful destination city, full of lakes, trees and amazing architecture. The Old Quarter hasn’t changed in generations; a myriad of winding lanes and small shops, bars and houses. French colonial architecture, like the Opera House, sits quite comfortably with ancient Asian designs. In recent years glass towers have arrived to complete the puzzle. The city is home to many attractions. The West Lake is so beautiful, a delight to stroll round. The body of Ho Chi Minh, the charismatic father of modern Vietnam, lies in state here. There is much to see and do in Hanoi.
